Celebrating Our Social Worker, Crystal!

For Social Workers Month, we want to celebrate our very own Crystal Elsten, who has been with Florentine Gardens for almost five years. She has been a Licensed Social Worker since 2017, and before that, she was an STNA for eight years.

Crystal has made such a great impact on the residents, the staff and the families at Florentine Gardens. We are so lucky to have her! To show her how much we appreciate her, we asked some staff members what they loved so much about Crystal.

"Crystal loves our residents like they are her own family. She is caring, compassionate and quick-witted. She is so much more than a social worker because she helps in every department and is a strong member of the Florentine Gardens team. She is an active member of the community and participates in charities as well. One that she is extremely passionate about is the Walk to End Alzheimer's. When she is not at work, she is a devoted mother of two amazing boys and a loving wife. Crystal is an all-around amazing person and I am lucky to have her as a coworker and friend."

She is level-headed, the voice of reason, and loves to get into shenanigans just to make the residents smile. She is loved by all our staff, residents and families. Crystal has a saying framed on her wall that reads, 'Our residents do not live where we work. We work in their home.' That is what Crystal is all about."
